Under-16 LGF League Div. 3 Final: Tyrrellspass 0-16 Mullingar Shamrocks 0-4
No joy for our Under-16 girls LGF team in Tyrrellspass on Friday evening as they bravely challenged a very good home team in the wet, windy, cold miserable conditions. The Tyrrellspass girls enjoyed the benefit of wind and hill in the first half and this was crucial. The girls attacked non-stop and kicked several fine points to establish a 0-11 to 0-1 interval lead. Grace Daly kicked Shamrocks lone point from a free and the excellent Grace added three more in the second half.
The girls deserve great credit for reaching the final and to keep Tyrrellspass from scoring a goal despite their dominance was the result of great defending by all six backs, and goalkeeping by Abigail Molloy.
