The U15 hurling season started with a pre-season bonding session where we held a car wash day. This was a busy day that helped prepare the squad for the hard work that would follow!

Training started in mid-January and the season finished last week in early July. The squad met on 75 occasions, this included all training sessions, matches and bonding days.

The U15 Academy group who were led by Cian Hogan had a great year, playing many matches and reaching the semi-final of their competition. In their journey all year, they played teams such as Oranmore, Na Piarsaigh, Wolfe Tones, Kilmaley, Eire Og, SMBGAA U13s, Tulla, Clonlara and Inagh-Kilnamona. A very successful skills competition was also held over the last few weeks that all of the players enjoyed.

The U15A group on their journey to being crowned U15A champions played teams such as Newport, Ballina, Ballyboden, Oranmore, Athenry, Na Piarsaigh, Inagh-Kilnamona, Scarriff-Ogonnello, Clooney Quin, Ballyea, Doora Barefield, Clonlara and Clarecastle.

Throughout the year, the squad had some fun bonding sessions away from the pitch. Here are the lads enjoying some fun activities in Cratloe woods and having a BBQ afterwards!

To wrap up the year, the players enjoyed some food provided by the Cosy Cottage, while Centra treated the players to ice creams and the boys watched the county final too! Thanks to the parents who made sandwiches and buns and to the parents who helped out with feeding the players and parents. The year involved lots of hard work such as 1k timed runs, gym sessions, running mechanics sessions, S&C circuit training, wall ball sessions, indoor arena sessions, hurling sessions, matches and tactical awareness sessions.

The U15 management team would like to thank the club for their support throughout the year and especially for facilitating the pitch bookings. Many thanks to the U15 management team of Tadgh, Shane, Cian, Kevin, Adrian and Damien for their efforts over a long campaign.

Most of all, thanks to the parents and players for all of their commitment and hard work to make 2023 such a memorable year!

Best of luck to the players who now move on and join the U14, U16 and U17 panels for the remainder of the year.
