BSJ Senior Ladies
Clann Mhuire 3-09 Ballinteer St. Johns 1-13
The ladies team traveled to Naul last weekend in the cup competition and played some excellent football with a very young team to run the hosts very close at the end.
Despite a slow start the BSJ players showed great resilience to completely turn things around as the game progressed. Trailing by 8 points at the break some super football from the girls in black saw things tied up all square entering the last 5 minutes and all momentum seemed to be with BSJ.
A turning point came when BSJ were straight through on goal only to be called back for an attacking free. To be fair the referee acknowledged the error but it did let CM off the hook. With time running out the BSJ girls were applying pressure for a final equaliser but were caught with a breakaway score on the final whistle.
Some really good performances from BSJ especially from Ruth Nolan who was named Player of the Match.
Also very special shout outs to our 6 girls from the Minor ranks who supported the team and all played their part. Congrats to Rebecca Bowden, Laura Dunne, Sinead Ni Baoighaill, Katie Mae Leonard, Ruby Bunton and Sophie Carroll ( who found the net with a goal on her Senior debut).
Next up is a trip to Foxrock Cabinteely in the first round of the League on 2nd April in Kilbogget Park. All support welcome.
