When every boy and girl enters the school gates for the first time the dream is to always make it to Cusack Park for schools finals in June before they head off for their summer holidays. The atmosphere in the stands in Cusack Park will be electric as the young supporters scream on their heros in the "bigger" classes one day hoping they will be the ones between the white lines on the hallowed turf.

For the boys and girls in 6th class its even more special as it will be the last time they wear the school jersey and represent the school that has educated them for 8 years. It will also be an opportunity to put on a display for their teachers as a form of thanks for all the time they gave to after school activities and for helping them to fulfil their dream of playing in the Park on Cumann na mBunsoil finals week.

And finally its often the last chance to play on the same team with the gang of friends they met in September 2017 when they walked in the school gates, the gang they sat beside in the stands for years shouting on the older boys and girls, the same gang they played blitzes, school leagues, indoor hurling tournaments, 7's competitions with, the same gang they will win or lose with next week and despite the result its the same gang they will have memories for life with.

Schools hurling and camogie is very special so lets all make an effort to get to Cusack Park in Ennis next week to shout on the next generation. Best of luck to all the boys and girls who play for our club involved in the schools finals:
