News Summary:

Last night, Westport United hosted a free defibrillator training session in AbbVie United Park. The course was presented by the Westport First Responders Group, aiming to boost emergency preparedness and raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest. The event brought together coaches, club and community members, who learned how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and perform CPR. Organisers emphasised the importance of quick action during medical emergencies, particularly in sports settings. The session was praised for empowering attendees with lifesaving skills and strengthening the club’s role in supporting community health and safety.

Thank you to Thomas and Caroline from the Westport First Responders Group for a terrific presentation to both groups. Thank you as well to all the participants who attended.
