Club Adult fixtures

A huge congratulations to our senior hurlers who have reached this year’s final after a hard fought win over a tenacious Kilmaley team, the lads dug deep and showed great resolve to see off the challenge. The final has been fixed for Sunday, October 5th at 3.30pm in Zimmer Biomet Páirc Chíosóg. More on the County Final below.

We had a mixed bag of results on Sunday, with our Intermediate hurlers losing out on a semi final spot after a one point loss to Ogonnelloe, the lads have had a tremendous year at intermediate and will return stronger next year. Our senior ladies had a resounding win over Miltown in their relegation decider as had our Junior C hurlers in their final round game v Tulla.

Back to the present where we have 2 semi finals and a quarter final for our adult team this weekend. On Saturday our intermediate camogie team travel to Clooney in their bid for a spot in the final at 2.45pm and at 4.30pm our Senior footballers take on Lissycasey in Cusack Park. Onto Sunday when our Junior B Premier footballers play Doonbeg in a quarter final at 12pm in Lissycasey.

While the Saturday schedule is tight, please make the effort to get to both games as the encouragement from the sideline means so much to the teams in their efforts to get over the line.

Light up with Red and White!
With one team in a final and two in semis this weekend it’s been great to see plenty of colour appearing outside houses and businesses in town and surrounding areas. If you haven’t got your colours out yet delay no longer! So dig out the flags and bunting and if you’re short there are plenty in supply in Spar Turnpike, Heaslip’s and Cootes. The club have just plain red and white medium and large flags left, all crested stock is now gone. If you want some of the club stock, contact Assumpta on 085 8795475.

County Final Programme
We have had interest from people in contributing to team costs and would ask that anyone else wishing to contribute would contact Club Treasurer, Kieran Kavanagh as soon as possible to ensure that your name is printed on the County Final programme.
The deadline is Friday, 26th September at 5pm as all programme information must be submitted then. Any contributions made after this time may not be included on the programme. Thanks so much to everyone for their support.

Ladies Football

Our u10 girls had a very successful blitz on a Sunday, hosting the Banner and Clooney Quin on a sun drenched morning. Great craic was had and some excellent games of football took place. The U14s continue their championship efforts this week with the white team playing Miltown next Thursday and our red team taking on Wolfe Tones Tuesday evening. All this week, the girls across all age groups have been running their legs of the double marathon fundraiser. Some great times posted so far! Thanks to everyone that has generously sponsored us for this event, these are vital funds needed to continue our growth as a club. Just a reminder for anyone that has cards left to return, can they please do so by this weekend.

Academy

Our U10 footballers travelled to St. Jude’s in Dublin last Sunday to take part in their mini All-Ireland Festival. We had 38 players, coaches and parents make the trip up. Our lads were highly competitive and won a shield competition ensuring a nice piece of silverware returned to the club with them, the shield was proudly brought to Ennis National School for a visit this week. Thanks to Sinead and all the coaches for organising the trip, such a great day out for the kids.

Also on Sunday, our U7 hurlers took part in a mini blitz hosted by Inagh Kilnamona, with teams from Corofin, Kilmaley and Clonbony also participating. Fab weather and plenty of fun and games for our lads. Thanks to Inagh Kilnamona for organising.

Photos from last Sunday were posted on our Academy Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/eireogacademyinis
