The term giving back is is often used as one of the strengths of people involved in GAA clubs and none more so than hurling legend in Sixmilebridge and Clare Seán Stack who is giving back in spades .....
Seán was ever present on the Clare teams of the 70s and 80s lining out in the half back line and getting just reward in 1981 with an All Star award. He won 7 Senior titles with the club including captain to our first in 1977 and our Centenary Championship in 1984 which was also our first Munster Club.

Since his retirement he has coached teams in the club all the way from underage to Senior while also finding success in clubs in Limerick and Tipperary. In recent times he has headed up the field development group in the club which has worked tirelessly to get the sod in O'Garney Park and Cappa Lodge in prestine condition - The best its been in years according to local players and hurlers on the ditch.
AIB who sponsor the Club Championships have shortlisted Sean in their ‘moments that matter campaign where they recognise the incredible people within our GAA clubs. This campaign is dedicated to shining a light on those often unsung heroes, players, coaches, and supporters - whose acts of selflessness and camaraderie make our Gaelic Games so special. Each month, they highlight a selection of these inspiring moments for the wider Gaelic Games community to vote on, with a monthly winner being crowned, before culminating in an overall ”Moment of the Championship” award at the AIB Club Player Awards next year.
While I'm sure Sean will shy away from the recognition the nomination is a recognition for both him and his team of volunteers who handled the late venue change for Eire Og V Loughmore Castleiney game in Sixmilebridge last Sunday week. When the broadcast message went out for help Sean was spotted by journalists Darren Frehill and got nationwide applause as he lead the charge from behind the wheel of a tractor as last minute prep took place ..
