We’re delighted to share that Oranmore Maree GAA One Club was selected in the December 2025 draw for clubs who took part in the Movember Ahead of the Game (MAOTG)  programme.

Ahead of the Game is an evidence-based initiative delivered by Movember and the Gaelic Players Association (GPA), supporting young players aged 12–18 — boys and girls — across GAA, LGFA and Camogie, with parents and coaches playing a key role.

This initiative is supported at all levels of our club, from the boys and girls that have participated in the program to the leadership groups in our adult teams and our club executive.

The programme was delivered over two evenings with our U14 & U15 group, facilitated by Iggy Clarke (Galway), Joe Mooney (Galway), Aisling Egerton (Westmeath) and Charlene Tyrrell (Leitrim). Feedback from players and parents was overwhelmingly positive.

Club Chair Seán Greene said:
“Ahead of the Game is a fantastic programme that supports young people across all our codes. It gives players practical tools to build mental fitness and confidence, while helping parents and coaches better understand how to support them. Initiatives like this strengthen our club and our community well beyond sport.”
