The February Executive meeting was recently held and a number of important matters were discussed and decided.

All management teams (managers, coaches and selectors) are now approved and in place for the year ahead and we wish all teams the very best.   The weather has impeded our return to training and games but the club's teams and managements are eager to get up and running.  Our Seniors have started the Feis Cup with a win and Round 2 is away to Skyrne on Thursday 19th next.  Keep up to date on fixtures in Clubzap. The Football Committee is also rolling out other initiatives including the Player Pathway policy framework which will standardise and ensure best practice across all football at juvenile level.  Our Nursery is also now rebranded as 'Na Gaeil Óga' and we are happy to announce that Smith's Supervalu Johnstown, a long running supporter of our club, is the sponsor of Na Gaeil Óga.  The Club has also extended the availability of specialised Strength and Conditioning training to a number of other teams with the Executive of the opinion that whilst it is a costly investment, it is fully in line with the 'football first' policy and will also lead to improved performance and an associated reduction in injuries (and associated medical costs).

We are delighted that Dara ÓCinnéide is in our club this Friday night (20th), for an engaging and interesting interview with Colm Keys.  This will start at 830pm sharp and we hope as many of our members, supporters and sponsors as possible can attend.  Our club bar has undergone a recent facelift with new flooring and painting and its first event will be the talk with Dara.  Many thanks to John Lynch of John Lynch Carpets and to Dominic Smith Electrical Navan for the invaluable support in this project. We will also hold our third 200 Club Draw that night and there are still tickets available.  Someone will be winning €1000 on Friday next and if you enter, on your own, as part of syndicate it could be you.  Purchase via Clubzap or on the night.

We have a number of commercial and sponsorship opportunities available to interested partners, ranging from the option of sponsoring a new scoreboard on the front pitch through part sponsoring coaches' tops to individual teams or pitch side signs.  Please contact Alan Sweeney if you, your employer or anyone you know is interested.  The Finance Committee will be running various fundraisers throughout the year and I hope that you can support and amplify them where possible, but one thing that everyone can do is to buy your membership as soon as possible.  Membership income is the vital lifeline in the club's finances.

Our coffee shop is back up and running for the year ahead and will be open every Saturday morning 0930 - 1230 and as required for games and events.  It is a great opportunity to get a coffee, stay in contact and support the club.   We also recently undertook an overhaul of heating system to ensure it is fit for purpose both in terms of showers and heating and whilst it was a substantial investment, it was one that was long overdue.

The Executive agreed to sell the club tractor which has not been used for a while.  It is a vintage 1960 Massey Ferguson 35, with an additional rear low loader and is in very good order.  It will be made available to purchase by members (full and OAP) first (likely for a period of two weeks in March - details will be released on Clubzap) and once above the reserve price, the highest bid is the winner.  If the reserve price is not achieved, it will be then made available publicly, via a platform like DoneDeal.  More details on viewing and the process to follow separately.  It is a great opportunity for any member interested in vintage tractors to purchase one.  The intent is to generate monies towards a new lawnmower for the club.

Please support the teams and the club in 2026 whatever way you can.
