It was a dominant display in the Aura Leisure Centre as Town ran out emphatic 7–1 winners over Glencar.
The first half was anything but a walk in the park for Town, as Glencar created several chances and forced Christian Bonner into a number of impressive saves. However, Town struck early — a mazy run from Jamie McMonagle after just five minutes set up Corey Monaghan, who finished with aplomb.
Ryan Mahon doubled the lead soon after with a stinging drive from 30 yards. Glencar deservedly pulled one back before half-time, and it looked as though they might mount a serious comeback in the second half.
It didn’t pan out that way.
A much-improved Town side were utterly dominant after the break. Niko Dominik made it three following more excellent work from McMonagle down the left. Kienan Degnan added the fourth after another powerful Mahon effort crashed off the underside of the crossbar, with Degnan stretching superbly to head home.
The fifth arrived shortly afterwards when a Gary Ward corner was turned into his own net by an unfortunate defender. David Lagan made it six with a fine finish on the break, and an exquisite strike from Dominik rounded off the scoring.
Best for Town were Adam Campbell, Ryan Mahon, and Daithi Duncan.
Up next is a home clash with Erne Wanderers.
