Seniors - Championship Preview
The race for the Canon Hamilton begins this weekend in Clare. The Clare Senior hurling championship throws in with the 1st round group games being played from Friday to Sunday. With 16 teams taking part, the format will consist of 4 groups of 4 to begin with, each team plays each other in the group and the top 2 will emerge from the groups to the quarter finals.

Eire Og are the defending champions and will be hot favourites to retain their crown but 15 other teams will be doing their level best to dethrone them.
The Bridge, county finalists in 2024, are under new managment this year with the return of John O'Meara to the helm. John who has managed the seniors previously to win the Can Hamilton on 3 occasions in 2013, 2015 and 2017. John is ably assisted by coaches Tadgh Keogh, Aidan Quilligan, Kieran Berminghnam and Paul Fitzpatrick. S&C has been provided by Kyle Kelly and physio duties being carried out by Tom Cregan. The kitmen this year are Aidan O'Conor and Jamesie Hassett. Pat Keane is in charge of logistics while Stats are managed by Danny Reddan, Pa Punch, Ronan O'Shea, Sean Lynch & Stephen Fleming.
The Bridge management have brought on board the squad a number of last years minor winning team and those lads mixed with the experience of some the older players will be very interesting to watch. A transitionary period no doubt for the club but getting valuable senior championship experience for the new younger players will be invaluable in the coming years. The Bridge will open their campaign against Wolfe Tones at 1pm on Saturday in Cratloe and they will then face Newmarket on the 8th of August at 1pm in Tulla and their final group game will be against Kilmaley in Cusack Park on the 23rd of August at 330pm.

'..I am very happy with preparations so far this year, the Clare Cup gave the oppurtunity for plenty of our younger players to play their first adult hurling at a high grade and fair play to management they gave them plenty of game time. We will be hoping to be able to compete this year in a tough group an we will be looking no further than our first outing against Wolfe Tones on Saturday. Id like to wish the team and management the best of luck and Im hoping we get a big support from our supporters on Saturday, as we all know the crowd can be the 16th man if they get behind their team..'
