*Championship Shield Semi-Final*
BSJ produced a hugely impressive performance to book their place in the Junior Championship Shield Final, overcoming Wanderers by 7-15 to 1-6 in a game where the girls were in control for long periods and showed excellent intensity from the opening whistle.
*Fast Start*
BSJ started brightly, with Lea Carey opening the scoring inside two minutes. Wanderers responded with a point, but the girls quickly took control.
Christine McCambridge was central to the early pressure, first making the opposition goal keeper make an important save before adding a point and then finding the net in the 9th minute to put BSJ 1-2 to 0-1 ahead.
The pressure continued. Eabha McCuskar added a point from a free, Róisín Wall followed with a point from play and then Kirsty Scanlan finished a superb attacking move to the net as BSJ opened up a commanding lead.
Christine added another point, while Lea Carey continued to threaten in attack, and by the midway point BSJ were firmly in control.
*Strong Through the Middle*
The girls continued to dominate possession and territory, with Sadhbh Ní Uileagóid, Isabel Keddy, Libby Dillon and Mya Costello working tirelessly to win ball and keep Wanderers under pressure.
There was also a huge defensive contribution throughout. Lea Carey and Kirsty Scanlan both produced goal attempts during the first half, while the backline consistently disrupted Wanderers’ attempts to build attacks.
Lea added two more points before Libby Dillon struck twice in quick succession late in the half.
With Eabha adding another point from a free, BSJ went into the break leading 2-11 to 0-4.
*No Let-Up After the Break*
There was no easing off from BSJ after the restart.
The defence continued to stand firm, while the midfield and forwards kept forcing turnovers and creating chances. Isabel Keddy added a point from a free before Nicole McCambridge found the net in the 43rd minute to stretch the lead to 3-12.
Wanderers continued to battle and eventually found their first goal in the 54th minute, but there was no panic from BSJ.
Instead, the response was immediate.
*Róisín Runs Riot*
The closing stages belonged to Róisín Wall.
After Isabel Keddy added another point, Róisín found the net twice in the space of 29 seconds, turning a commanding lead into an unassailable one.
Then, just two minutes later, Neve Molloy capped an excellent impact from the bench by firing home BSJ’s sixth goal.
And there was still time for Róisín to complete her hat-trick, finishing another attack in the 61st minute to bring the final score to 7-15 to 1-6.

Christine McCambridge was our deserved Player of the Match.
She was influential from the very start, contributing 1-2, including an excellent early goal, while also making the Wanderers goalie make a crucial save and repeatedly winning possession for BSJ.
Her work rate, composure and ability to drive the team forward set the tone for the performance. Christine was involved at both ends of the pitch and played a major part in keeping BSJ on the front foot throughout.

As it’s a home final, we would love to see as much support there as possible to get behind the girls for one last push.
