The clubs 6th hurling team the Toggin Out crew travelled to the National Sports campus at Abbottsgown, Dublin in Saturday for the annual Dads n' Lads tournament which featured over 300 players from all across Ireland.
After an early start setting off from Sixmilebridge at 7am, the team played 5 matches on the day.
They played against Antrim team, St. Brigids, Cloughmills, the Halfpacehurlers from Belfast, St. Judes from Dublin, St. Annes Whitehall Colmcille also Dublin and finally Eire Og Corra Choill from Kildare which is now the club of former Bridge hurler Pa Freeman. Interestingly Pa is also now the manager of their senior hurling team.
A very enjoyable day on some of the best surfaces in the country, there was a good mix of stylish hurling, effort, exuberance and later on - indulgence! The Bridge were victorious in each game, a couple of games they won well but were made to work very hard in others.
A total of 15 Bridge lads travelled up for the day, the final matchday squad picked only days before after months of training in the Arena under the watchful eye of Player/Manager Brian O'Neill.
Well done to all that participated and well done to the Gaa for organising the event.

Training for next year continues in the Arena Saturday mornings at 745am for hurling and Tuesday and Thursday 7-8pm for fitness and strength & conditioning.
