Our Minors opened their championship campaign against St Breckans in Hennessy Memorial Park last night. The strong Lisdoonvarna side started well and raced into an early lead however an impressive display from goalkeeper Quentin Lernihan ensured Miltown stayed in touch. Miltown found their feet and edged closer to their opponents when Sean McMahon found himself at the end of a well worked team move and finished to the net.
The youthful Miltown side tried hard in the second half with a number of fine points from Cian Mahony and Cian Guerin however despite their spirited display Lisdoonvarna emerged victorious on a scoreline of 1-15 to 1-10.
