It was with great sadness that all involved with St.Josephs Miltown Malbay GAA and the wider Miltown community learned today of the sad passing of Michael O'Brien.

Michael played football for Miltown and was one of the most loyal and passionate supporters of Miltown GAA.

He took enormous satisfaction with the senior county title wins in 2015 & 2018 in particular the key roles played by his son Eoin 'Tayto' O'Brien and his nephew Sean.

It was testament to Michael's strength of character to fight his illness that he was in attendance in Cooraclare two weeks ago to witness the Cusack Cup final victory.

All involved with Miltown Malbay GAA express our deepest sympathies to Michael's wife Helen, sons Micheal and Eoin along with the wider O'Brien family.

Michael's funeral details are as follows:

Reposing at St Joseph’s Church, Miltown Malbay on Wednesday evening from 6pm with prayers at 8pm.

Funeral mass on Thursday at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Ballard Cemetery.

Miltown GAA will provide a guard of honour for Michael on Thursday following 12 noon mass. All available would be most welcome to support.
