CLG Éire Óg Inis and in particular our Camogie Club would like to extend condolences to the family of Kitty McNicholas who sadly passed away yesterday, August 22nd.

We would also like to thank Kitty for the legacy she leaves behind and which has been benefitting so many Ennis girls for many years. Kitty was hugely instrumental, alongside Michael Brennan, in setting up our club in 1967. She served as a player, mentor, coach and in many administrative positions down through the years.

Her service extended also to county level and as joint president of Clare Camogie, Kitty officially opened Clare Camogies state of the art clubhouse at Fr McNamara Park in 2017. The McNicholas Meeting room in that building is a fitting and deserved tribute to Kitty.

Some photos here of the official opening of the Clare Camogie clubhouse and a photo of the 1974 Junior All Ireland winning team. Kitty is at the back, 2nd from left, while her daughter, Maura is in the front row, holding the cup.

Rest in Peace, Kitty
