Saint Marys 4 Bandon 1

The Saints progressed in the u16 National Trophy with a well deserved 4-1 win over divison 1 side Bandon.

Jamie and Captain Ted Daly got on the score sheet in the first half with Sean O’Keeffe Assisting Jamie with a through ball to slot home and give Mary's the lead . With 5 minutes to go in the half Ted Daly had a Free in his own half that somehow found its way into the back of the Bandon net to give the Saints a 2-0 lead going into half time. Some big saves were made in the first half by stand in keeper Cillian Corcern to keep the clean sheet at half time .

A big performance by Alex and Sean Murray in the second half got Mary's a 3rd goal for Jamie to slot home from the penalty spot for his second goal of the game. With Mary's taking the foot off the gas bandon scored a cracker of a goal from the corner flag as the ball floated into the Mary's top corner to make the score 3-1 with 15 minutes to go .

With Bandon pushing for a second Mary's broke with Jack Cahalane sending a ball through to Cillian to slot home to put the tie to bed and send the Saints through to the quater final of the cork area .

Some major performances were on the pitch by Captain Ted Daly , Jack Cahalane ,Sean O’ Keefe and Alex but a Man of the Match performance goes to Tyrone Desmond at Right Back .
