CAMOGIE

Well done to our u14 red squad who got their championship campaign off to a good start mid-week, with a good win away to Tramore, 3-8 to 1-4. . Keep up the good work girls & mentors.

In the Minor A All-Ireland Camogie Final, Waterford went down by one score 1-10, to Cork’s 1-13. The girls gave it everything and well done to Alex Healy, Isobel Boland, Alannah McNulty & Maggie Gostl who did the Club very proud. To mark this historical lifetime achievement, the Club made a presentation to the four girls after training on Thursday. Great to see so many Club members in Nolan Park, supporting the girls, well done all!

Hard Luck to Waterford Senior Camogie who went down 1-9 to Tipperary’s 4-11 in the Munster Senior Championship Semi Final. Beth scored 1-7, and well done to Brianna, Keeley, Abby, Beth and Niamh who all did well on a day. that wasn’t to be. Best Wishes to the girls as they now prepare for the All-Ireland Championship campaign. Congrats also to Beth, our three time All Star who picked up her sixth monthly WLR/Granville Hotel GAA award after a brilliant month of March performance. WellKids Salle Og has started on Saturdays at 11am in De La Salle College Sports Hall.  Congrats to Oliver Hutchinson, DLS college player of the week. Keep up the great work Oliver. Hard Luck to our U13 footballers who went down to Lismore earlier in the week

We played Stradbally Sunday at Gracedieu, in the All-County Football League, Div 5. With the wind in the first half, we went in 2 points up at half time. Using the strong wind, at the start of the 2nd half Stradbally got on top and after 10 minutes levelled the game. The lads dug deep & started to get on top with some great scores and ended with a winning a score line of 1.14 to 1.09. Well Done to Lee Hayes and all the squad. Scorers; Conor Mullane 1-07 (penalty) Darren Kennelly 0.2, Lorcan Dwyer 0.2, Colm Morris 0.1, Jack Jacob 0.1, Daniel Lalor 0.1

FEILE

Congrats to our U15 Hurlers on a great campaign and win in the Feile Div 1 Final, over the weekend. On the opening day we defeated Clonea 1-9 to 0-2,Mount Sion, 3-9 to 2-4 and Clan na Gael 6-6 to 0-5 in a packed Gracedieu. Well Done again to the Community Committee on a great range of refreshments

In the Semi Final, we were drawn against Roanmore in a game that was won by the narrowest of margins. At half time we were two points down, 1-0 to Roanmore’s 1-02. It was an end-to-end game with a Toby Ryan free forcing extra time in the dying seconds as it finished DLS 2-7 Roanmore 2-7. There was no separating the teams at half time in Extra time with both teams at 2-09. At the end of extra time, the result stood at DLS 2-11 Roanmore 2-10, a great win by the narrowest of margins to secure a place in the Div 1 Feile Final v Mount Sion. Well Done to all the squad on digging deep to ensure this final place. Scorers Toby Ryan 1-02F, Conor Power 0-2F, Shane Power 0-5 (3F), Eoin Keane 1-0, Jack Mullaly 0-1, Darren Doyle 0-1.

In the Final, the extra ten minutes made no difference to this well-conditioned squad as we went in at half time in the Final, four points up, in a hard fought battle with Mount Sion. The lads, despite the extra time in the semi-final kept their work rate high and this combined with impressive skills and a strong squad they deservedly finished champions with a scoreline of DLS 1-12.
