CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS

Our Club will celebrate 100 Years since our founding by De La Salle Brother John Murphy in 2027. As we start our preparations and focus for a year of celebrations, lots of ideas are being mooted … a book, and animated story in photos, a blue plaque on Stephen’s Street School, a Celebration Gala Dinner, hurling, football & camogie tournaments, commemorative jersey, podcasts and so on. If you have an idea that you would like to bring forward, sit on the Centenary Committee or be a lead on one of the events please contact Club PRO Eddie Mulligan on 0872227325 or e mail eddiemulligan@hotmail.com It will be a great year of celebration, but it will need some volunteers and project leads stepping forward, thank you.

STATE EXAMS

Best Wishes to all players undergoing their Junior & Leaving Cert this week.

CAMOGIE

Well done to our u12 Red squad who braved the elements Tuesday evening to play St Annes in Cleaboy. Great battle by both teams where all the girls worked very hard. Thank you to all who came out to support the young players

Well done to Brianna, Allanah, Keeley(0-01), Beth (1-08), Abby (3-04), and Maggie in a comprehensive win over Derry in Rd 3 of the All-Ireland Championship. Hard luck to Alex who played in the U23 Rd 3 All Ireland Championship team that went down to Tipperary.

Well done to our super u8s who had a great time entertaining the crowds in the Go Games at half time of the Waterford v Derry game. Thank you to the coaches for looking after the girls as they cheered on Waterford to an emphatic victory. Thank you to Waterford Camogie for organising these great games for our young players.

GAA

Hard luck to our Senior Hurlers who went down 1-17 to Ballygunners’ 1-19 in a great home battle as preparations soon turn to the Championship.
