Navan Women's 1st XV bowed out of their 2024 campaign on Sunday after a tough defeat to MU Barnhall in the semi-final of the Leinster Paul Flood Women's Cup at Balreask Old.

The visiting side, this season’s Leinster Women’s Division 1 champions and All-Ireland League qualifying semi-finalists, demonstrated their class with a dominant seven-try performance that showcased their strength and cohesion across the park.

Despite the scoreboard, Navan showed unwavering grit and heart throughout the contest, battling until the final whistle. Team captain and back-row stalwart Aoife Ryan led from the front, embodying the spirit and determination that defined Navan’s impressive season, one that saw them crowned Leinster Women’s Division 2 champions and earn a second successive promotion.

While disappointed with the result, Navan will take valuable lessons from this clash as they look ahead to their debut season in Leinster Women's Division 1. The experience of facing top-tier opposition provides a benchmark for the level they aspire to reach in the next chapter of their journey.
