Celtic completed their league season with a 5-0 drubbing at home to Peake Villa this afternoon. Goals from Dale Lougnane and Pippy Carroll had the visitors 2-0 to the good at the break. Another 3 goals in the second half from Keith Carroll, Kieran Hennessy and a second for Dale Lougnane saw Villa run out convincing winner and they remain on course for the title. It’s been a difficult season for Celtic but it could have been worse. After losing their first three games of the season they looked to be headed for a relegation scrap. However they recovered well and a good run of form before Christmas dragged them well away from the drop zone. Unfortunately they couldn’t recover that form after Christmas and struggled to find any consistency.
