Our Junior B side began their Division 5 league season with defeat to Lisscasey in a game played in glorious sunshine (for a change) in Lissycasey on Saturday evening . The sides traded points early on with scores from Conor Neylon (2 Frees) and a cracking two point effort from Cillian Keavey giving Miltown a 0-4 to 0-3 lead before the home side struck for their first goal.
Miltown replied with a Tim Lenihan point on the thirteen minute mark to leave the minimum between the sides at the end of the first quarter. Lissycasey added to their goal total in the nineteenth minute and extended the lead with another point before a Conor Neylon free reduced the arrears to three as half time approached.
Lissycasey began the second half in blistering fashion and had added 1-2 to their tally in the opening minutes, before Oisin McCarthy opened Miltowns account. Oisin meade got his first point of the evening as Miltown battled their way back into the game with a fine goal from Tim Lenihan adding to their total. A gearoid Burke point on twenty three minutes proved Miltowns last score as the home side added further points as the game drew to a close to run out winners by 3-10 to 1-09
