U12’s were away to Iveragh in a top of the table clash, both teams unbeaten in the league to date. The wind and rain was bad in the first half with MEK playing into the wind we went in 1-0 down, with a couple of good saves from Corey Campion in goals and some great defending at times Thomas Coffey and Rory Foley particularly strong at the back.

MEK upped the work rate in the second half with James Clifford and Eanna Murphy working hard but Iveragh went 2-0 against the run of play. Special mention to Ryan Carey who came on in the second half and really got stuck in, breaking down attacks and leading the push for a goal.

That goal game with about 3 mins to go and really gave the boys a lift. Through ball from midfield, James Clifford running on to it and slotting past the keeper. With 3 late corners and a free kick, MEK threw everything at them, goal keeper, defenders everyone up for the corners but just couldn’t find space for an equalizer. Tough test, tough conditions but all our players can be proud of their effort, we live to fight another day.
