Coach Brian Culbert reached the biggest stage earlier this month with the Kerry senior hurling team for the Joe McDonagh All Ireland Final. Culbert alongside Tipperarys Brendan Cummins and manager Fintan O' Connor faced off against the Northern stalwarts Antrim on All Ireland Final day in Croke Park before the senior All Ireland Final between Limerick and Waterford.

Whilst Kerry went in at the break very close to  Antrim scorewise, the second half was a different affair and Antrim were able to pull away and lift the Joe Mcdonagh cup.

Kerry who have been building, hope with a few additions to be in a stronger position next year.

Culberts alma mater Kilmurry National school were in full support of Culbert even displaying the Kerry Colours on the windows before the final.

The 2019 U16 winning manager is expected to continue the long round trip to Kerry in the new year to help build on the substantial foundations laid in the last couple of years.
