Our 12A's continued their fine form in the Premier Shield competition tonight when they made the short trip to Finn Park to take on St. Anthonys. Rovers opened the scoring eight minutes in when Alessio Coppola dribbled his way through the St. Anthonys rear guard to coolly finish and give Rovers the lead. Both teams then cancelled each other out for the remainder of the half with the home keeper pulling off a string of fine saves to keep Rovers only one up at the break. Three minutes into the second half Nadal Kingne hit a long range effort that deceived the keeper and hit the back of the net to make it 2-0. The remainder of the match played out with both teams giving it everything but no more goals came leaving Rovers sitting top of group 2. Thanks to St. Anthonys for the game and we'll see them on Saturday when the two teams clash again in the league.
