The Gers buachaillí Under 13 boys travelled to St. Mochtas on Sunday evening for a pivotal U14 Division 4 league clash, knowing that victory would secure a place in the league final.
With the aid of a stiff breeze in the first half, the home side capitalized on the conditions and raced into a commanding 5-1 lead within the opening 15 minutes. The Gers lads, however, showed their resilience, gradually settling into the contest and chipping away at the deficit. Their persistence paid off as they went into the break with a hard-earned three-point lead, 2-3 to 0-6.
The second half started in similar fashion, with the visitors making the most of their possession and keeping the scoreboard ticking over with some well-taken scores. As the match progressed, the Gers showcased some fantastic passages of play, executing clinical finishes and demonstrating excellent teamwork.
